Donald Trump claims he would KO Joe Biden in a ‘few seconds’ in boxing fight

Since his defeat at the polls in last year's US presidential election was finally announced, Donald Trump has tried a number of ways to contest the result – none of which were successful.

Now, it seems the former resident of the White House would settle for a chance to knock his successor Joe Biden out in the boxing ring, after claiming he would manage to do so "in the first few seconds" of a fight.

The 75-year-old made the bizarre claim while at a press conference promoting Evander Holyfield's comeback boxing match at the age of 58.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world will go up against MMA fighter Vitor Belfort, replacing the latter' original opponent Oscar De La Hoya after the American-Mexican was hospitalised with Covid-19.

The former president and his son Donald Trump Jr will be on comms for the event, alongside Todd Grisham and UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal.

Trump will be "live in person" with "no holds barred", according to event promoter Fite.tv.

"I love great fighters and great fights," Trump said of the event.

"I look forward to seeing both this Saturday night and sharing my thoughts ringside. You won’t want to miss this special event."

When the one-term president was asked who he would fight at the event if he had to pick someone in the world to go up against, he could not resist taking a swipe at his successor.

"Well if I had to pick somebody in the world, I'd take a pass on the professional boxers," he said.

"I think probably my easiest fight would be Joe Biden, because I think he'd go down very very quickly.

"He once said he'd like to take me behind the bar and that I'd be in big trouble – I think Biden would go down in the first few seconds."
