Deontay Wilder’s daughters’ boyfriends must fight him for three rounds
Deontay Wilder is so fiercely protective of his children that any future boyfriends of his two daughters will have to go three rounds in the ring with the Bronze Bomber to prove their worth.
The former WBC heavyweight champion is currently training and preparing for his eagerly-anticipated bout with Tyson Fury next month in what will be the third fight in their brutal trilogy.
Wilder, who has five children, is particularly protective of his two daughters and his eldest is now 16 years old.
The boxer has thrown down the gauntlet to any potential boyfriend – and they will have to be particularly brave to do so.
“I've got great kids, I have no problems,” Wilder told the PBC Podcast.
“But I tell all my girls – if you get boyfriends, I've gotta meet them.
“They've gotta spar with me at least three rounds so I know they can protect my daughter.”
The Bronze Bomber’s comments regarding his two daughters will surely scared off any suitors.
While discussing his family life, the American heavyweight has his sights firmly set on October 9 when he will take on bitter rival Fury.

The fight was originally scheduled to take place on July 24 before Fury tested positive for Covid, forcing the bout to be rescheduled for next month.
Wilder characteristically responded to the news of Fury’s condition by expressing scepticism regarding the positive diagnosis.
“They’re trying to run away with it, I’m running to it,” the 35-year-old insisted.
“I don’t believe he had Covid. I know he wasn’t doing well in camp.
“The young guys were piecing him up. I had a young guy from my camp who was piecing him up."
Fury was reportedly set to fight Anthony Joshua in what would have been a gargantuan all-British clash for the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

However, Wilder won an arbitration case after it came to light that the American was contracted to fight Fury for a third time.
Despite members of Fury’s camp suggesting the clause had expired, a court ruled in favour of Wilder to set up their clash next month.
Neither Wilder nor Fury have fought since their last bout in February 2020, when the Gypsy King defeated the Bronze Bomber via TKO in Las Vegas.
Their first fight – back in December 2018 – ended in a controversial draw despite fans and critics alike believing Fury had done enough to secure the win.
