Deontay Wilder has revealed his plan to take a psychedelic drug in order to help make a decision regarding his retirement from professional boxing.
Wilder’s last bout came in October last year, as he was defeated by heavyweight rival Tyson Fury for the second straight time following an 11th round knockout in Las Vegas.
Since his defeat to the Gypsy King rumours of the American’s retirement have been rife with the Bronze Bomber aged 36 and without a heavyweight title.
Wilder has also seemingly been left out of the recent headline fight conversation surrounding the heavyweight division, with Fury, Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk the main talking points.
This also seems to imply that the former champion of the world’s time at the top could be coming to an end, however in order to make the decision he has revealed an interesting plan.

As a result Wilder admitted he is contemplating Ayahuasca (a South American brew), which would send him on a ‘spiritual’ journey to help him decide his future.
Speaking on the Byron Scott Podcast he said: “I’m thinking about doing Ayahuasca. That’s gonna be my decision-making process…
“Boxing’s put a bad taste because of what it’s done to me.
“It’s dangerous, politics, cheating… I still have love for the sport though.”

Wilder addressed his future in December last year, two months on from his defeat to Fury.
And it seems if the decision to retire came, it would not be a regret of the American after admitting he had ‘accomplished all of his goals’ in boxing.
Talking on the Cold As Balls on the Laugh Out Loud Network he commented: “It’s mixed feelings because ultimately I have accomplished all my goals in this sport.
“I told my daughter when she was one-year-old that I’d be a champion and I’d be able to support her beyond her belief.
“I’ve done that. There’s a lot of things that I’ve accomplished that I feel I have to prove to anyone because I’ve already proven [myself].”
“Should I push forward? Should I give it a go one more time?
“Or should I just retire and focus on the other things that I already have, other things that I want to get into?”
