Deji has admitted that he hopes to ‘steal some technique’ from Floyd Mayweather when they square off on November 13 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. The YouTube star isn’t sure what to expect when the bell rings but hopes to learn a thing or two from TBE.

“First and foremost I am expecting fun because I know it is going to be fun,” Deji told the Ril & Wils podcast. “I am expecting him to show off his skills and everything because obviously, people have been saying stuff about him. The thing is though there is no blueprint to beat Floyd, so I don’t really know what to expect. Ultimately I want to go in there and steal some technique.”

Since retiring from professional boxing in 2017, Mayweather has continued to earn big money paydays in non-scoring contests against YouTubers, MMA fighters, and anyone else that will put up the dough. So far in his post-retirement tour, he has fought kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa, YouTuber Logan Paul, former sparring partner Don Moore, and MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura.

His latest opponent, Deji, currently holds a 1-3 record in boxing having lost his first three fights against Jake Paul, Vinnie Hacker, and Alex Wassabi before bouncing back with a big win over Fousey in August.

Mayweather recently suggested that he didn’t know who Deji was when he was first told about the fight. Speaking to TMZ Sports, he said: “I don’t really know Deji, they just called me with the name. My team have done their homework and we said, ‘Why not?’ I’m pretty sure he’s a tough competitor, a tough little guy. We’re gonna have fun, let’s just say that. We’re gonna have fun.”

In order to get Mayweather on the phone just to discuss the fight, organisers had to pay £887,515 ($1million) to kick off negotiations.

“They (the organisers) reached out and said ‘Floyd we’d like you in Dubai’. I said, ‘I’m not getting on the phone unless we know the numbers’. They wired me $1million. I got on the phone ASAP. I said ‘Let’s make it happen’,” said Mayweather at their Las Vegas press conference.
