Conor McGregor encouraged to ‘destroy utter clown’ Jake Paul on way to UFC glory
Conor McGregor has been urged to “destroy utter clown” Jake Paul to kick-start his route back to UFC glory.
The Notorious is planning out his next move after suffering a defeat to Dustin Poirier in his first fight for a year.
One of the options is a bout against Paul, who has fought to two victories in the boxing ring.
The YouTuber called out the Irishman, who lost to Floyd Mayweather in gloves three years ago, throughout his preparation for UFC 257 with some mocking videos.
McGregor’s only comments on Paul came days before his defeat to Poirier, calling him a “confused little kid”.
But Joe Duffy, who was the second man to beat McGregor in the Octagon 11 years ago, believes he should consider taking on the 24-year-old.
Speaking to The Sun, the now-retired fighter said: “Going away from MMA, even Jake Paul is ring time.
"He could go in, destroy this guy, a complete and utter clown, go in and make a millions.

"He could come back, have ring time and go and tee off on someone in the UFC.
"It's not a bad shout, it's the easiest money and the closest to a tune-up fight that he's going to get so that makes the most sense in terms of his career.
"He can get comfortable in just competing, I know it's not the Octagon but he can come back to that, it makes a bit more sense in my head."

But McGregor will have to get in line as Paul has now secured a boxing match against returning MMA fighter Ben Askren.
He has been linked with a fight against Manny Pacquiao, which could lead to a world title if the Irishman can beat a professional boxer first.
While The Notorious has also been in conversations with rival Mayweather about a rematch – which could take place on a cruise ship with super-rich fans watching.
