Chris Eubank Jr’s rematch with Liam Smith is CONFIRMED for June 17 at the AO Arena in Manchester after the Liverpudlian knocked his rival out in brief and brutal first encounter

Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr’s highly-anticipated rematch has been confirmed for June 17 at the AO Arena in Manchester.
Smith shook the boxing world by beating Eubank Jr by TKO in the fourth round of their meeting in Manchester on January 21, 2023.
Eubank took to Twitter immediately after the fight to say: ‘Congratulations to Liam tonight, nice lil shot you caught me with there my boy.
‘Felt like I could of kept going but referee is in charge & I respect his decision. We’ll get it on again soon.’
Eubank followed this up with a Valentines Day message for Smith – claiming he would be activating the rematch clause in his contract on February 14.

Eubank Jr was floored in the fourth round during their first encounter back in January this year
Eubank Jr was on his feet but swelling was already showing underneath his right eye
Eubank shared a picture of himself holding a rose and wrote: ‘This morning I activated the rematch clause via my lawyers & sent to my promoters Wasserman. Happy Valentines Day Liam Smith.’
However, boxing fans questioned whether Eubank should face Smith again after he was sent crashing to the canvas twice in one round before being stopped one minute and nine seconds into the fourth round of the fight.
Nevertheless, Smith and Eubank will go toe-to-toe for a second time on June 17 at the AO Arena in Manchester.
The fight will be shown live on Sky Sports Box Office, following Eubank’s decision to activate his rematch clause.

It’s now a must-win fight for the Brighton boxer, who was on a run of six conecutive victories prior to his devastating defeat to Smith.
Boxxer have also announced that Savannah Marshall will return to the ring following her defeat to Claressa Shields to face Franchon Crews-Dezurn.
Marshall and Shields went toe-to-toe at the O2 Arena in October, with the American coming out on top to earn a hard-fought unanimous decision.
Marshall expressed her interest in a rematch with Shields but will now face Crews-Dezurn for the undisputed title at super-middleweight instead.
