All eyes will be on the main event tonight when Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders collide at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. It’s a fight that was due to take place this time last year on Cinco de Mayo weekend before the coronavirus pandemic saw the showpiece cancelled.

Yet tonight the two super-middleweight world champions will meet in the middle of the ring in front of up to 70,000 fans.

Canelo’s WBA, WBC and Ring Magazine titles are on the line while Saunders tables his WBO strap.

For Saunders, this is more than just a payday as he looks to secure a legacy within the sport.

The Brit will need to pull off the performance of his career if he is to dethrone the world’s pound-for-pound king.

Yet his slick southpaw style is expected to cause Canelo problems, while his gamesmanship outside of the ring has already started to ruffle his opposite number’s feathers.

But before the main event, there are a host of other well-matched fights to get stuck into.

Canelo’s compatriot Elwin Soto will defend his WBO light flyweight strap against Japanese star Katsunari Takayama.

Eddie Hearn completed a deal to sign the Mexican earlier this month and he will be the chief support for his idol Canelo.

Elsewhere, British super-welterweight Kieron Conway goes to war with Frenchman Souleymane Cissokho.

Cissokho was signed by Anthony Joshua’s 258 management in 2019 and has previously fought on several Matchroom bills including Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz Jr in New York.

Cuban heavyweight Frank Sanchez is also back in action as he takes on Nagy Aguilera.

The 17-0 rising contender sparred with Canelo as recently as last December.

Lightweight prospect Keyshawn Davis is back out in action once again, just a month after featuring on the Carl Frampton versus Jamel Herring card in Dubai.
