Bombshell Ebanie Bridges’ next opponent vows to "punch holes through that girl"
Boxing bombshell Ebanie Bridges' next opponent has vowed to "punch holes through that girl".
The IBF have ordered Bridges to defend her bantamweight world title against fellow Australian Shannon O'Connell, with a deadline of September 26 set to arrange the bout. Bridges claimed the title back in March, defeating Maria Cecilia Roman via a unanimous decision in Leeds to move to 8-1 as a professional.
Now she has her next opponent, with O'Connell heading into the fight off the back of a eight-fight win streak which she extended last month by defeating Sarah Higginson via a technical knockout to earn her slot as mandatory challenger.

Speaking after that win, O'Connell sent a message to Bridges, via News.com: "I'm the number one in the IBF. They should make me mandatory. She's going to have to fight me, otherwise don't be a champ.
"Ebanie Bridges pretends she doesn't know me because she’s scared of me. I will punch holes through that girl."
The 39-year-old is now 23-6-1 as a professional, with 11 of the former Commonwealth champion's wins coming by way of knockout.
Bridges will be hoping to continue her own winning streak with a successful first defence of her title, in what will be her 10th professional bout.

After beating Roman in March, she explained: "I feel proud of myself, and I feel extremely happy because it means everything I've sacrificed and all the work I've put in and everything that I've done that's got me to this point.
"This belt represents all the heartbreak, all the sacrifice, all the training, that's what this belt represents for me. Can I f***ing fight or what?”
The only defeat on her record came in her first title fight, though, losing via unanimous decision to Shannon Courtenay in April last year when they fought for the then vacant WBA belt.
Prior to learning the identity of her next opponent, Bridges sent her fans into a frenzy on social media after hosting a Q&A with her Instagram followers. She wowed in a plunging red top as she cheekily revealed that 69 is her favourite number.
