Anthony Joshua wants Dillian Whyte fight as Oleksandr Usyk bout hangs in balance
Anthony Joshua has opened up the possibility of a second domestic dust-up against Dillian Whyte, with a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk currently hanging in the balance.
The 32-year-old is due to face Usyk for a second time later this year after losing his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts via a unanimous points decision at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September.
However, that appears to have been throw into doubt after it emerged Usyk, who is Ukrainian, had enlisted with the Kyiv Territorial Defence in a bid to defend his country against Russia.
Joshua has now opened the door to a possible rematch with Whyte after the pair traded blows on social media.
Whyte, who is due to face Tyson Fury in April, wrote on his story: "Why so bitter? Number 1 bulls**t guy @AnthonyJoshua.
"What did I ever do to you man? S***, good luck in your rematch with @usykaa."
Joshua replied: "Hate is a strong word. I respect you, champ. I just want to fight you at some point."
The pair last clashed in 2015 when Joshua emerged victorious thanks to a technical knockout in the seventh round.

Nevertheless, Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, still believes his man will fight Usyk next.
He has claimed that Usyk's involvement in Ukraine will have 'no bearing' on his rematch with Joshua – which is set to take place some time in April.
Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn said: "People keep saying would this affect Canelo against Bivol? Would this affect Oleksandr Usyk?
"I can't tell you what Oleksandr Usyk is thinking in his mind. But for me, the answer is no. I would guess Oleksandr Usyk will start camp in about four weeks time.
"I guess, like Dmitry Bivol who will start camp in Los Angeles this weekend or on Monday – if that's what's required of Usyk, he will do the same.'
Hearn added: "It's a very sensitive subject and I can't tell you what certain individuals are doing, whose country is at war.
"But I don't expect it to have any bearing on Anthony Joshua versus Oleksandr Usyk."
