Anthony Joshua offered seven-point plan to win Oleksandr Usyk rematch
Anthony Joshua has been offered a seven-point plan to dethrone Oleksandr Usyk by respected trainer Peter Fury.
Joshua struggled to break down a superb and resolute Usyk, who produced a scintillating display to win the unified world titles.
The Brit was heavily criticised by many pundits for not using his strengths as he attempted to outbox his opponent.
And Fury, who trained his nephew Tyson to his first world title, has given the 31-year-old a list of seven aspects to work on, ahead of a hugely-important redemption mission.
"Adjustments for Anthony Joshua," Fury posted on Twitter. "1, Better variation on the jab. 2, Know how to use correct angles to walk down. 3, Know when hands go up & go down. 4, How to read feints & respond. 5, Body attacks. 6, Use size properly. 7, Make smaller man work without landing."
The Briton also nearly landed himself in deep bother, with Usyk pressing to stop the fight with seconds left on the clock.
But he managed to cling on, with several fans questioning if the bell sounded early to prevent the stoppage.
Although Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn later rubbished the rumours, seemingly pointing to DAZN's out-of-sync clock.
And the former champion himself has seemingly admitted his gameplan was incorrect, and plans to get back to the "drawing board".
“I’m not a sulker,” he said post-fight. “This is a blessed opportunity to be able to fight for the heavyweight championship of the world.
“I’m not going to go home tonight and be crying about it because this is war. It’s a long process. This isn’t just one fight and I’m done. I can’t go back and sulk, that’s a waste of time.
“I’m going back to look at ways I can improve, straight away. I’ve already looked at the fight. When I walked back through the tunnel, I said to myself ‘I’m ready to get back into the gym’.”
Joshua's quick exit from the ring was scrutinised, but he received medical attention for his damaged eye which plagued him in the final rounds.

And several members of the boxing community came into the ring to console him including Derek Chisora and Tony Bellew who also suffered the same fate.
But Dillian Whyte was less thoughtful, and branded Joshua a "f****** weirdo" for his tactics during the fight.
He told iFL TV : "I'm still a bit baffled to be honest, it was a bizarre performance from Anthony Joshua. But Usyk fought good.
"I don't know man, I don't know. Joshua is a strange guy, he's a real proper f****** weirdo. Why's he gonna wait to the second fight? He should have been putting the heat on him
"Even at the latter stages, ok you're eight rounds down. You feel like you're down on the scorecards, start having a go. You're the unified heavyweight champion of the world.
"Maybe he wanted to lose and try beat him again to be three-time heavyweight champion, I don't know."
Joshua has not given up on a domestic showdown with Tyson Fury however, and is hoping that the 'Gypsy King' will take a fight without the belts.
