Anthony Joshua makes decision on £15m offer to step aside so Fury can face Usyk
British heavyweight Anthony Joshua has made decision on whether to step aside so that Tyson Fury can take on Oleksandr Usyk, rather than going through with his contracted rematch against the Ukrainian.
Joshua lost his three world title belts to Usyk last year, and he had been due to take on the Ukrainian once again in an attempt to win back his bragging rights.
Meanwhile Fury was set to face WBC mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte, with talks still ongoing over complications due to the split of finances for the event to take place.
But that bout could too be put to one side, so that Fury and Usyk can face off in an undisputed clash for the WBC heavyweight title.
Daily Star Sport understands that Joshua would be open to agreeing a figure in the region of £15million to step aside and allow Usyk to fight Fury in an undisputed heavyweight bout in the Middle East.
That would also mean that Whyte would have to step aside from a potential fight with Fury, and £5m could be enough to pull out from the contest too.
Therefore it could take a £20m pay-off to allow Fury and Usyk to showdown, and for those types of figures to land it would take investment from the Middle East to make the undisputed fight happen.
Plans continue to be put together for Joshua to face Usyk in a rematch and for Fury to defend against Whyte at The Principality Stadium in Cardiff on March 26.
But it's believed that Joshua would agree a £15m fee to step away from his contracted rematch, which could lead to him eventually facing Fury in what continues to be one of the most anticipated match-ups of the 21st century.
Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested that boxing fans could £expect the unexpected" in the near future, with the situation still unresolved.
