Amir Khan revealed that he has been in contact with Tyson Fury about facilitating a heavyweight unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia, in order for the Morecambe-based fighter to receive the £500million purse he has demanded.
The former light-welterweight champion claimed he spoke with Fury and plans to discuss the option of staging a potentially mouth-watering clash with Usyk in Saudi Arabia with Turki Al-Sheikh, the Minister in charge of entertainment at Royal Court.
Fury had previously hinted at coming out of retirement to face the Ukrainian, but issued Usyk a seven-day deadline to come up with the funds to organise a fight or he would not come out of retirement, in a social media video on Wednesday.

Khan said: ‘I spoke to Tyson a few days ago and said: “listen, maybe we can help you get that fight”.
‘You know what his answer was: “I want £500 million”. I was like OK, I will get back to you.
‘I speak to the Saudi Government, I know Turki Al-Sheikh quite well, the guy who makes it happen in Saudi Arabia and I have not sent him that message yet, but I am going to tell him he wants £500 million.
Fury announced on Wednesday that he wants ‘500 million’ for a fight with the Ukrainian
‘That is crazy, isn’t it?’
The 35-year-old appeared on talkSPORT later on Wednesday to reiterate his demands, claiming that the only thing that would entice him out of retirement is a fight for ‘obscene money’.
Usyk successfully defended his WBF, WBA and IBO titles against Anthony Joshua
He also claimed that the fight would be the biggest in the world, before comparing it to the high-profile coming together of eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao and five-division champion Floyd Mayweather for the welterweight championship title, which earned the latter ‘400million’.
Khan went on to admit that he found it hard to look past the Brit in a fight against Usyk, but also suggested that a fight against compatriot Anthony Joshua could be perhaps more financially lucrative.
He added: ‘I think a bigger fight would be Wembley Stadium with AJ. Even though AJ lost, I still think it is a big fight and people want to watch that fight.
‘But with Usyk becoming a world champion, winning all the world titles, him and Fury, if that fight happens, I give it to Fury.
‘I think Fury has that long-range, he will box him and keep him long so I favour more Fury in that fight.’
