AJ is 'the most talented' heavyweight in boxing says Robert Garcia
Anthony Joshua named ‘the most talented’ heavyweight in boxing by his new trainer Robert Garcia as the two-time world champion ditches Rob McCracken after 10 years to try and beat Oleksandr Usyk in rematch
- Anthony Joshua lost three world titles to Oleksander Usyk when they last fought
- He has appointed celebrated coach Robert Garcia to help him win the rematch
- It meant splitting with Rob McCracken, who had coached Joshua for a decade
- Garcia called Joshua ‘the best all-round talent’ in world heavyweight boxing
Robert Garcia praised Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Oleksandr Usyk but named his new colleague Anthony Joshua as the best ‘all-round talent’ in heavyweight boxing.
Joshua appointed Garcia as his trainer after losing three heavyweight world championship belts to Oleksandr Usyk in September.
It meant splitting with Rob McCracken who had trained AJ since his Olympic gold at London a decade ago.

Speaking to Little Giant Boxing, Garcia said: ‘Still now, a year ago, two years ago, if you asked me, ‘Who is the most talented heavyweight?’ I’ve always said Anthony Joshua.’
‘Talent-wise, Fury is a different beast, a different monster. Usyk is very technical and difficult because he’s smaller and fast. Wilder, tremendous power. Everybody has their own unique qualities.
‘But overall, if you’re talking about talent, I pick Anthony Joshua. And another thing Anthony Joshua has is insane power.

The trainer also heaped praise on Olexsander Usyk, calling him ‘fast’ and ‘very technical’
He continued: ‘Oh my gosh, he’s got great power. More than anybody else I think. Wilder, I’ve never felt his power, but what I’ve seen of him [knocking] fools out, Wilder is one of those guys too that has that one-punch knockout power.
‘But Anthony Joshua has it. He’s very, very strong.’
Joshua is set for a rematch with Usyk in July, where he will have the chance to win back the titles he ceded to the Ukranian in their last fight.
