UFC forced to remove fighter from Conor McGregor card for security violation

UFC president Dana White has explained why Ottman Azaitar has been cut from the organisation.

Azaitar was due to fight Matt Frevola at UFC 257 on Saturday night, though was removed following a security violation.

Frevola has been rescheduled to face Arman Tsarukyan in the prelims with Conor McGregor ’s fight with Dustin Poirier headlining the main card.

Though for undefeated lightweight Azaitar, the UFC days are over with White left fuming at the security violation.

The fight chief told BT Sport : "Yeah it's pretty amazing actually.

"So he and his team cut off their wristbands, gave them to somebody outside the bubble – I don't know how they even did it – that guy taped them and showed up here with a bag.

"He went into a room, shimmied across four balconies, went in his room, dropped the bag off, changed his clothes and left.

"When security tried to stop him he wouldn't stop either way and it's just bad. He's gone, he's no longer a UFC fighter. And he's not fighting."

He added: "One guy got inside the bubble, went in through a room and shimmied down four balconies, got in through his balcony and dropped off a bag of we don't know what.

"He changed his clothes and went back outside the bubble. We got everything on camera, we saw the whole thing and how it all went down and pulled his fight and cut him."

Azaitar, who was born in Germany, leaves the UFC with 13 wins from 13 MMA fights.

He fought just twice under the UFC banner, winning both his bouts in the first round and earning two Performance of the Night awards.
