Paige Spiranac weighs into Conor McGregor next fight debate after Poirier loss

Golfer and Instagram sensation Paige Spiranac has posed a potential next fight opponent for Conor McGregor.

McGregor made his UFC return on Saturday night but was stopped in the second round by Dustin Poirier.

It was a rematch following their 2014 bout, and many are now questioning where McGregor’s career goes with a trilogy with Poirier a potential.

Having previously dipped into boxing to take on Floyd Mayweather, a return to the ring has also been touted.

Manny Pacquiao has been reported as a possible opponent, though many believe the Notorious could dip into exhibition bouts inside the boxing ring.

That could mean taking on the likes of YouTube sensation Jake Paul, and that’s who Spiranac seems to favour.

Spiranac simply tweeted: “So is Conor Mcgregor fighting Jake Paul next?”

Paul has been chasing a boxing match with McGregor and claimed to have a $50m offer waiting for the Irishman.

The younger brother of Logan Paul reduced that offer to just $10,000 following McGregor’s loss to Poirier.

He said: "Conor, ay, ay, Conor – I got $10,000 for you cash, cash baby. You had $50million!”

Though McGregor seems intent on staying in UFC, and having the trilogy fight with Poirier.

Shortly after the loss, he tweeted: “Thanks for the support everyone! Was not my night/morning in there but a great contest to improve on.

“I’m excited at the blockbuster trilogy I now have on my hands.

"There’s always a trilogy when you’ve got 1-1. Tuesday is match-making, we’ll start figuring stuff out.”
