Live UFC 230: Daniel Cormier vs Derrick Lewis
DANIEL Cormier made UFC history as just the fifth fighter in the history of the promotion to hold a UFC title in multiple weight classes when he knocked out Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 to claim the heavyweight title in July to go with his light heavyweight title.
Cormier then called out WWE legend Brock Lesnar and the UFC confirmed planning had begun for a super heavyweight showdown between the pair.
While that fight hasn’t yet eventuated, Cormier will fight Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis, who claimed a stunning last minute KO win against Alexander Volkov to earn a shot at the title.
Lewis holds a 6kg weight advantage, but it’s Cormier who remains a big favourite to defend his belt.
There’s so much blood
The main card has a lot to live up to. The first two fights of the preliminary card have been explosive with the second showing resembling a Quentin Tarantino movie rather than a UFC bout.
Julio Arce and Sheymon Moraes put on a tough opening round, but it was in the second when the action really kicked off.
Moraes landed a vicious elbow to the head of Arce and split his opponent wide open. The fight continued as blood began to soak both fighters.
The canvas quickly resembled a crime scene as the red mist even found it’s way outside of the Octagon.
“I’ve got blood on my phone,” one of the commentators proclaimed.

The fight went the distance with the judges awarding the fight to Moraes via a split decision.
After the fight Joe Rogan stated it was “the bloodiest I’ve ever the UFC canvas”.
‘Savage’ KO rocks undercard
Lyman Good got the preliminary card off to a blistering start in New York when he obliterated his opponent with a vicious knockout.
Good and Ben Saunders engaged in a clinch with Saunders landing continually hard knees to the body.
But it was hellacious punches from Good that caught Saunders off guard and sent him crumpling to the canvas.
As his body hit the deck, Good took full advantage and began landing blow after blow before referee Herb Dean ran in to call an end to the fight.
