Drake loses mammoth £350k UFC bet as Charles Oliveira chokes out Justin Gaethje

Rapper Drake lost a mammoth bet worth £346,000 after Charles Oliveira choked out Justin Gaethje in the UFC 274 main event.

The Canadian shared a bet slip with his 109million Instagram followers on Friday (May 6) which suggested he had heavily backed Gaethje to win in his native currency (CA$550k). If it came in, the bet would have returned £524k in profit.

But unfortunately for Drake, he picked the wrong man in Saturday night's showdown. Underdog Gaethje was tapped out by Oliveira, who has been forced to vacate his lightweight title after missing weight for the bout, in the first round.

Conor McGregor responded to the bet in a video posted on his Twitter account. The Irishman can be heard saying: "Falling in love with them odds he was. I don't know about it to be honest, I think this guy, any grappling exchanges he's petrified.

"Cancel that bet now Drake. Drake, it hasn't happened yet you can definitely rescinded that bet."

McGregor later wrote: "Called it. Even if he knocked him down he too s*** to be able to follow him down and do anything substantial. Always Charles’s fight. Sorry @Drake should have posted."

Who will be the one to end Oliveira's winning streak? Let us know in the comments section.

It's not the first time Drake has lost big betting on the UFC. Earlier this year he placed £202k on Jorge Masvidal to beat Colby Covington at UFC 272.

His decision-making was also off on that occasion. The fight went the distance and Covington won on the judges scorecards, meaning Drake missed out on potential winnings of £598k.
