Tottenham ‘furious’ with Kane – who feels snub is ‘blown out of proportion’

Tottenham have been left 'furious' with talisman Harry Kane with the England captain failing to report for another day of pre-season training.

The 28-year-old did not show on Monday either, believing he has a 'gentlemen's agreement' with chairman Daniel Levy to leave Spurs this summer.

Yet their star man has now failed to report to Hotspur Way for two consecutive days leaving Tottenham “disappointed” with Kane's actions and the board plan to hit their striker with a substantial fine.

The Athletic report that the 'gentleman's agreement' has been the reason for Kane's no-show and the Premier League golden boot winner believes this was clear from the start:

"Kane feels that this was communicated to the club and that the situation has been blown out of proportion," highlights the article.

"But Spurs were furious about how things played out on Monday and were insistent they had been given no explanation for Kane's no-show."

The obvious destination for Kane appears to be Manchester City; Pep Guardiola 's men are in need of a striker having lost Sergio Aguero to Barcelona and are one of a few clubs who could afford Kane's transfer fee and wages.

City are remaining confident of landing Kane, who is their only striker target, and are willing to pay around £130 million.

However this does fall short of Spurs' £160 million valuation and Daniel Levy has pointed out that the north London club are in no need to sell with three-years still remaining on Kane's contract.
