Cristiano Ronaldo was seething on the bench after watching Osman Bukari copy his iconic "siuuu" celebration in the World Cup.

It came after the 23-year-old halved Portugal's lead in Ghana's World Cup opener that exploded into life after the first half. Ronaldo scored a penalty before running off to celebrate in style by spinning around as a stadium full of people screamed "siuuu".

Joao Felix and Rafa Leao added to the scoreline shortly after Andre Ayew had equalised but the African side have made it a nervy end following Bukari's goal – but the Portuguese held on to claim victory and boost their qualification hopes.

And the Red Star Belgrade ace was ecstatic, sprinting towards the corner before copying Ronaldo's famous celebration. The cameras quickly panned to the former Manchester United man – who was gesticulating with fury – and fans loved it.

One fan said: "My man has been waaaaaiting to Sui." While another tweeted: "Bukari hitting Ronaldo’s celebration right after he’s come off the pitch. Behave."

And a third said: "Osman Bukari Player of the Tournament confirmed #FIFAWorldCup."

Another posted: "The way he chose to do the Ronaldo celebration rather than picking up the ball, absolute troll lol." And this fan said: "Bukari you absolute legend."

Portugal are fancied as one of the favourites to win the tournament with a side brimming with top talents such as Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo.

And the spotlight is firmly on the Selecao after United scrapped Ronaldo's contract just days before their World Cup opener. It means that the 37-year-old is now a free agent at this year's competition.
