Shaqueel, 14, is currently part of the U-15s team at Feyenoord but is widely regarded as one of the greatest talents in the academy.

Such is the opinion of the budding striker, it is likely he will be promoted to the next age group, which is set to be partially led by his father.

The two share a close relationship and have been seen practising and honing their skills in previous heart-warming clips.

Last year, during the height of the coronavirus crisis, Van Persie and Shaqueel kept themselves active by taking part in drills.

A video posted on Instagram by Holland great Van Persie showed them lined up on an all-weather pitch at their home. They then showed off some impressive footwork.

Shaqueel’s impressive talent was visible with Van Persie Jr able to keep up for most of the session.

The youngster has tended to follow in Van Persie’s footsteps during his journey across Europe.

He was part of Fenerbache’s academy from 2015 and spent time at Manchester City before that.

Holland’s all-time top scorer has helped train the club’s strikers from time to time in his first foray into the other side of the sport.

Van Persie was initially hesitant to label it an ‘official’ gig in an interview confirming his appointment, however.

He will reportedly work under Brian Pinas from the start of the next campaign.
