PSG ‘prepared to sell Neymar’ to fund new Kylian Mbappe contract
Paris Saint-Germain are willing to part ways with Neymar in order to finance a lucrative new deal for Kylian Mbappe, according to a report from France.
PSG sporting director Leonardo confirmed earlier this month the club had entered negotiations over contract extensions for numerous players including Neymar, Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and Juan Bernat.
Brazil superstar Neymar and French World Cup winner Mbappe are out of contract in 2022 after arriving in 2017 and 2018 respectively for a combined total of £365.7million.
PSG must avoid either player entering the final year of their deal or else they risk losing one of the most sought-after players in world football for free.
But the Ligue 1 champions are also aware they will struggle to table bumper new deals for both stars amid the financial constraints of the coronavirus pandemic.
28-year-old Neymar's current deal sees him take home £600,000 per week, while Mbappe, 21, is believed to earn £375,000 per week.
The cost of improving both deals may prove exorbitant and PSG have decided to prioritise a new deal for Mbappe, according to L'Equipe .

As such, Neymar may depart Parc des Princes in the summer transfer window, though the former Barcelona man is still uncertain of his next move.
Meanwhile, PSG are aware of Real Madrid's long-standing interest in Mbappe and are keen to ward off their approaches by tying him down to a new deal.
