Marcelo’s son Enzo took inspiration from his father’s former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo after scoring for Real Madrid’s youth team on Friday.

The youngster, who is the spitting image of the Brazilian left-back, is part of Real’s Under-12 side currently competing at the LaLiga Promises tournament.

The competition is one of the most prestigious in youth football and welcomes some of the best academies in the world from the likes of Liverpool, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.

Enzo is making a name for himself as one of the stars of the future and scored twice in Real Madrid’s 6-0 victory over Liverpool.

His first goal was expertly taken as he shrugged off two Reds defenders before firing the ball home off the post with his right foot.

The 12-year-old wheeled away and performed Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siuuu’ celebration before being mobbed by his team-mates.

Marcelo, who was watching on from the stands, is out of contract at Real Madrid at the end of the summer.

The 33-year-old has started just three times in La Liga this season as Ferland Mendy has pushed ahead of him in the pecking order.

He has expressed his desire to extend his 16-year stay at the Bernabeu and wishes to play alongside Enzo for Los Blancos.

‘I’m calm. This is my club,’ Marcelo told Marca. ‘I have the idea of playing until my son grows up so that I can play with him, and I want to keep going at a high level.

‘Now we have important matches. I’m the captain of the best team in the world.

‘I’m calm and I feel protected. I’m not thinking too far ahead. Everything comes to an end. I’d like to retire here, but it’s not up to me to make the decision.’
