Man Utd fans left salivating as Erik ten Hag’s style of play comes to fruition

Manchester United fans can’t contain their excitement after being shown a glimpse of what is to come during a pre-season friendly.

The Red Devils took on Crystal Palace in Melbourne on Tuesday where they cruised to an impressive 3-1 victory. It marked Erik ten Hag’s third match in charge as manager and his third straight win with an aggregate score of 11-2 across all three games.

There was plenty on show for United fans to get excited about following a dismal season, including Marcus Rashford’s goal to make it 2-0 straight after half-time. Rashford’s finish came after a glorious move which the Red Devils faithful were deprived of for large chunks of last season.

The move started off with an in-form Anthony Martial calmly controlling a long ball, before playing it to Jadon Sancho on the edge of the box. The Englishman then carved through the Palace defence with a perfectly-weighted ball to find Martial again, who cut it back for Donny van de Beek.

But instead of tapping it in, the Dutch midfielder squared the ball to Rashford, who buried the chance to cap off a stunning bit of play. And United fans unsurprisingly flocked to social media post-game to voice their excitement, along with their approval of Ten Hag’s style of play.

United have three more friendlies against Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano in July. Their season officially begins on August 7 when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at home in the Premier League.
