Man City set to outbid Man Utd and Chelsea for Harry Kane after Spurs admission

Manchester City are ready to outbid their rivals for Harry Kane – who insists Tottenham cannot stop him leaving.

The England star is set for showdown talks with Daniel Levy but insists it will be him alone and not the Spurs chairman who decides his future.

Kane, 27, has three years left on his contract but wants to quit, and City are winning the race to sign him ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea.

Breaking his silence on the biggest open secret in football, Kane said: “I want to be playing in the biggest games.

“This season I’m watching the English teams doing amazing in the Champions League. They’re the games I want to be involved in.

“It’s a moment in my career where I need to reflect and have a good honest conversation with the chairman. I hope we can have that conversation.

“I’m sure he will want to se out the plan, how he sees it. But ultimately it’s going to be down to me and how I feel, and what’s going to be the best for me in my career at this moment in time.”

Spurs do not want to sell Kane, whose preference is to join City, and are furious at the timing of his bombshell decision to leave.

It would take a bid of £120m for the club to even consider selling their 22-goal scorer – but Kane believes Levy may already be contemplating a transfer.

He said: “As a player, you don’t know what the chairman is thinking. He might want to sell me.

“He might be thinking: ‘If I can get £100m for you, then why not?’ I’m not going to be worth that for the next two, three years.

“I’ve give the club 16 years of my life so I hope we can have a good honest conversation.”
