The shirt Manchester City hero Sergio Aguero wore when he scored his iconic Premier League winning goal against QPR could be sold for an eye-watering fee.

The Argentine famously scored in the fourth minute of added time on the final day of the 2011/2012 season to win City their first Premier League title. His goal ensured City defeated QPR 3-2, beating rivals Manchester United to the title on goal difference.

Aguero has since been forced to retire from football due to medical reasons, but one of the most memorable moments of his career has now been brought back to the front of people's minds. That is because his shirt from that famous day is being put up for auction.

According to The Sun, Aguero's shirt was recently added to the Graham Budds Auctions catalogue at a starting price of £30,000. But it is stated that the shirt is expected to 'soar' in value and could fetch as much as £1million.

The short-sleeved shirt carries Aguero's iconic number 16 from that famous day at the Etihad Stadium. It also has the Barclays Premier League sleeve badges, club crest and sponsor logo.

On the back, the shirt has the name 'Kun Aguero', as well as his number. His goal sparked wild celebrations among all connected with City, so much so that there is even dry Champagne spray marks on the shirt.

The shirt has found its way to auction after Aguero had given it to City's kit-man. The kit-man then passed it onto of the UK's 'leading collectors' of memorabilia, who has now decided to sell it to raise money for charity.

The proceeds from the auction will be going to Testicular Cancer UK and the Stroke Association, with the auction house also waiving its seller's commission. The shirt will be sold at an auction on 24 May, but even its expected sale price does not come close to the £7.14m that was recently paid for Diego Maradona’s 1986 ‘Hand of God’ international shirt.
