Incredible football bodycam lets you watch goal as if you’re on the pitch

Koln's incredible football bodycam footage has allowed fans to watch their goal as if they are on the pitch.

The German side trialled their innovative new camera angle during Saturday's home friendly against AC Milan as part of the Telekom Cup. Milan claimed a 2-1 victory at the RheinEnergieStadion to win the pre-season tournament and lift the trophy, with the match being the first time that Koln have hosted the annual event.

Despite their defeat, Koln have left football fans in awe of the bodycam footage they have since released after hooking a camera to the chest of winger Tim Limperle.

Limperle was able to capture Florian Dertz's consolation goal from a unique angle which showed fans what it would be like if they were on the pitch.

The footage shows Limperle's viewpoint as a corner is swung into the Milan box, with the first header crashing off the top of the crossbar before Dietz volleys the rebound into the net.

20-year-old Limperle captures the perfect angle after waiting on the edge of the box for a loose ball to drop from the set-piece. Despite the goal, Koln did fall to a defeat, with former Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud scoring a brace for Milan.

Fans are loving the new camera angle, though, with some comparing it to Nike's classic 'Take it to the Next Level' advert from 2008.

One supporter tweeted: "Just like this Nike ad from the past who remembers omg." Another added: "Awesome, like back then with the EA Sports ad."

Meanwhile, a third fan jokingly reacted by commenting: "When will the jersey with the camera be available in the FC shop?"

Guy Ritchie directed the iconic advert, which was filmed from the perspective of a footballer spotted by Arsenal as an amateur before having a run-in with Cristiano Ronaldo and becoming mates with Cesc Fabregas.
