Heung-min Son appears to take swipe at Harry Kane after Tottenham no-show

Tottenham star Heung-min Son appears to be none too pleased with Harry Kane’s no-show at training, ‘liking’ a post on Instagram criticising his teammate’s attempts to secure a transfer.

The 28-year-old striker failed to report to training on both Monday and Tuesday in an apparent effort to force through a move to Manchester City, with the Premier League champions having had a £100million bid rejected out of hand.

Kane believes he had a gentleman’s agreement in place to let him leave if a nine-figure offer was made, but Tottenham have no intention of letting their talisman go.

Although an increasing number of Spurs fans have begrudgingly come around to the idea of Kane being allowed to leave, his failure to show up to training – and some ill-timed interviews opening the door to a departure – have not been well received by supporters.

Kane’s actions also appear to have gone down badly with his Spurs teammates, with eagle-eyed fans spotting that Son – who committed himself to the club earlier this summer by signing a new deal – has ‘liked’ a post on Instagram which slammed the England skipper’s actions.

The post from thfcsource read: ‘Reminder: A player is never bigger than a club. “Harry Kane FC” has 0 trophies. Tottenham Hotspur has 26 trophies,’ read the post caption.

‘It is understood that Harry Kane does not want to remain at Spurs following a lack of success, however his attitude and methods of attempting to force a transfer are disrespectful. Kane has the right to leave yet not to go about it in this manner!’

If and when Kane does eventually return to Tottenham’s training ground, Son’s cheeky social media activity could make for a very awkward reunion in the canteen.

Since Kane’s no-show, it has now been claimed that the forward is simply quarantining after returning from a holiday in the Caribbean on Sunday evening and will return to training following a day-five Covid test on Friday.

But that was not communicated to Tottenham, who are furious with their star striker’s behaviour, with chairman Daniel Levy said to be more determined than ever to keep hold of Kane.

It is not all bad news for Spurs, though, with the north Londoners reportedly agreeing a deal worth £46million for Atalanta defender Cristian Romero, who was named Serie A’s best defender last season.
