Gary Lineker has lashed out at VAR once again after the system's 'ludicrous' decision to give Wolves a penalty against Brighton.

The score was 1-1 in the Premier League clash with just over half hour gone. But that was about to change when when Brighton ace Lewis Dunk appeared to handle the ball in his penalty area, after blocking Ruben Neves' shot.

Play was brought to a halt while referee Graham Scott got VAR's opinion on the matter. And Scott proceeded to give the spot kick to Wolves after reflecting with the Video Assistant Referee.

But the decision was met with fury by a livid Lineker who raged on Twitter: "Another VAR handball fiasco as @Wolves are given a ludicrous penalty." Neves sweetly struck home the ball from the spot, scoring his seventh penalty in as many attempts in the Prem, and gave Wolves a 2-1 lead.

However, it wasn't the only contentious decision of the match as Wolves ace Nelson Semedo got sent off just after Brighton grabbed an equaliser through Kaoru Mitoma. The Seagulls then went onto clinch victory in the final stages of the match when Pascal Gross hit the net.

The well-fought result saw Brighton leapfrog former boss Graham Potter's Chelsea side into sixth in the league, while Wolves languish just above the foot of the table in 19th spot.

But the Molinueux side will take comfort going forward after finally finding a permanent replacement for the ousted Bruno Lage in Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui. Lopetegui will take the reins when the Prem pauses for the World Cup later this month, and Wolves fans can't wait for him to arrive.

However, the ex-Spain boss is sure to have his fair share of issues with VAR when he steps into the Wolves dugout. The system has been at the centre of a number of controversial decisions this season, leading for calls from players to see it scrapped completely in future.
