Everton star Richarlison says he’s "speechless" over summer transfer talk

Everton star Richarlison has admitted he's been rendered "speechless" by reports linking him with a move away from Goodison Park.

The Brazilian forward, 25, has been a shining light in yet a bleak season for the Toffees, which almost culminated in relegation to the Championship. Frank Lampard's side maintained their top-flight status in the penultimate game of the season, finishing just four points clear of the drop zone.

Without Richarlison's 10 goals and five assists, Everton would almost certainly be readying themselves for a first season outside the Premier League. Operating on a shoe-string budget, Lampard is not expected to perform a mass exodus on Merseyside this summer but the former England star will need to ship out a few high-earners to pave the way for new signings.

According to sportrac, the Toffees cult hero is currently one of the club's highest-paid players on a staggering £90,000-a-week. Only Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Jordan Pickford are on dearer salaries than the Brazilian.

Despite rumours of a move to PSG or Manchester United, Richarlison appeared to shut down any transfers talk when linking up with his national side this week. He told Brazilian media Globo Esporte: "I’ve already made it clear to the board, I’ve already talked to Lampard too, with my agents and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June.

"Now I can’t talk because when we talk about leaving a club, I’m kind of like this. Because of the history I have at Everton, the affection that the fans have for me, when we talk about leaving, I’m a little speechless"

After ensuring their survival, Richarlison wrote himself into Everton folklore when goading the red half of Merseyside on social media. The Reds fell just one pint short in the race for the Premier League title, and the forward celebrated by posting a well-known GIF of Thierry Henry pulling faces on Twitter.

It's been a busy few weeks for the Brazilian on social media. Richarlison also hit back at Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher following his comments during the Merseyside derby.

The Monday Night Football pundit mentioned a lack of physicality and touched on his constant antics when rolling around on the floor. But Richarlison replied: "wash your mouth before you talk about me and everton and I don't respect you," alongside an emoticon of a turd with eyes.
