Ed Sheeran has lifted the lid on his private concert for the England team at their Euro 2020 training camp, revealing that players held hands in a circle while he performed Three Lions.

Sheeran, 30, was invited by England captain Harry Kane to attend their training base during this summer's major tournament, arriving the day after their final group-stage win over Czech Republic.

And during an appearance on Peter Crouch's Year-Late Euros show, the award-winning singer gave an insight into how it played out.

He said: "I got a message from Harry Kane two months ago being like, 'We get one day off after the qualifiers, will you come and play the team BBQ?'. Obviously it was a yes.

"It was really, really great meeting them, they were pumped up.

"But what I loved – they were watching the game and it was France, Portugal, Germany and Hungary. At one point they were playing Hungary, at one point they were playing Portugal, at one point they were playing France.

"As soon as the Germany result happened, they were just like, 'We’ve got this'.

"There was no, 'Oh my god we’re playing Germany'. There was such confidence. I loved it."

Sheeran added: "We ended the night obviously singing it’s coming home together."

Crouch then asked: "Was everyone involved?"

Sheeran replied: "Yeah, we ended the night, in a circle, all hands around.

"For me, just as an English boy, being in the centre of the England team, it was really great.

"I’ve had many amazing moments in my life but I don’t think there’s many that will top that."

England are gearing up for their crucial Euro 2020 quarter-final against Ukraine on Saturday night.
