Kevin De Bruyne has given Manchester City a fresh injury scare after hobbling off injured in the 86th minute of their Carabao Cup win over Fulham.
The City playmaker was hurt after Timothy Fosu-Mensah appeared to land on his left knee during the closing stages of the comfortable 2-0 victory on Thursday night.
De Bruyne managed to walk off the pitch but the incident will be of concern for City boss Pep Guardiola, who was keen to check on his player as he stood on the touchline.

He was immediately replaced by 18-year-old midfielder Claudio Gomes but by that point Guardiola’s men had already done enough to earn a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
The Spaniard said after the game that De Bruyne was ‘being checked by the doctors and we don’t know if it’s nothing or if it’s something serious.’
He added: ‘I think today De Bruyne is back. The Kevin we know. He made a huge effort against Shakhtar, played a few minutes against Spurs in difficult conditions.
‘Today he was involved in offence and defence, hopefully what happened in the last minute is not serious.’
The Belgium international was making only his second start of the season, having returned to fitness after a ligament injury in his right knee.

He played in his first game back in City’s 5-0 win over Burnley on October 20, making a 32 minute cameo from the bench.
De Bruyne had initially been eyeing up the Manchester derby on November 11 as a potential comeback date but made real progress over a short space of time to force his way back into contention.
His injury was in part put down to De Bruyne’s heavy summer. He was an instrumental part of the Belgium team that reached third place at the World Cup.
