Christian Eriksen secures ‘total agreement’ with Inter Milan

Christian Eriksen's move to Inter Milan is edging closer with his agent finalising a deal with the Italian side.

The Dane's representatives have flown to Milan where they are thrashing out the finer elements of the transfer.

A deal until 2024 has been agreed with Inter paying Tottenham a fee of €18m (£15.3m), according to Nicolo Schira .

Eriksen has long been linked with a move away from north London and he was subsequently booed off during Tottenham's loss to Liverpool last Saturday.

Real Madrid were touted as a possible destination in the summer before the 27-year-old ended up staying put.

But with his contract now into its final six months the Premier League outfit are keen to cut their losses and recoup some sort of fee for the playmaker.

Antonio Conte's Inter Milan look to have won the race for his signature as they look to raid the English top flight for new recruits.

They are just two points off Juventus at the top of Serie A having surrendered the lead when they dropped points at Atlanta last weekend.

New additions in January though may provide the spark required as they aim to end their wait for a league title that dates back to 2010.

Olivier Giroud could follow Eriksen as he seeks a route out of Chelsea with his playing time limited due to the form of Tammy Abraham.

A £4m deal has been rumoured as he looks to be reunited with Conte, the man who signed him from Arsenal in 2018.

Manchester United's Ashley Young, who has turned down a new contract at Old Trafford, is also keen on a switch to Italy.
