Chelsea eye Oblak move as Kamara addresses transfer links

With Chelsea still clearly some way off Premier League leaders Manchester City, it is clear the Blues will need to bring in reinforcements in the summer transfer window.

There are several positions in Thomas Tuchel ’s squad that will need fresh faces if they are to return to the summit of England’s top-flight.

Owner Roman Abramovich would have hoped that last summer’s major splurge would have improved the squad sufficiently.

But instead of kicking on under Frank Lampard, it has been a disappointing campaign at Stamford Bridge, culminating in Lampard’s sacking, making another busy summer likely.

Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Chelsea transfer news…

Blues eye Oblak

Despite Edouard Mendy’s solid performances in goal for Chelsea, the Blues could move to sign a world-class goalkeeper this summer.

A possible option is Jan Oblak, whose performances for Atletico Madrid have seen him become one of the best keepers in the sport.

Chelsea have long admired Oblak and Fichajes.net report that the Blues will be one of the main contenders to sign the Slovakian if he decides to leave the Spanish capital.

His current contract runs until the summer of 2023, but Fichajes claim he could seek a new challenge at the end of this season.

Kamara addresses Chelsea rumours

Since March, Chelsea have been linked with a move for Marseille defensive midfielder Boubacar Kamara.

The 21-year-old has been an ever-present in what has been a disappointing season for Jorge Sampaoli, but has done enough to impress Thomas Tuchel.

Now the Frenchman has moved to address those links with Chelsea and he revealed he would be willing to depart the club.

“I’ve been here since I was very small. I’ve never felt this desire to leave, but I think I’m ready to go pretty much anywhere with what I’ve lived at Marseille,” he told RMC Sport.

Chelsea battling Tottenham over Brazilian star

Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs eyeing a move for Palmeiras midfielder Gabriel Menino, though face competition from Tottenham, Juventus and Atletico Madrid.

The 20-year-old has scored four goals and notched seven assists since making his debut in January 2020, earning himself a call-up to the Brazilian national team.

Now, Calciomercato the Blues are one of the clubs keeping tabs on Menino, who is expected to leave the Sao Paulo-based side this summer.
