Bruno Fernandes staring down Anthony Martial during matches is an inside joke
Bruno Fernandes has opened up about his relationship with Manchester United team-mates Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
The Portuguese superstar has revealed they share an inside joke that the two forwards "never" give him assists because "every time I pass to them, they never score."
Fernandes cited an example during the 6-2 win over Leeds where Martial failed to score after Fernandes had set him up, leading the midfielder to stare at him before breaking out in a grin.
Speaking to United's official website, Fernandes revealed: "With Marcus, there is always that kind of joke with him and Anto [Anthony Martial].
"I say to them every time I pass to them, they never score. They never give me assists. You see again that Anto missed that chance against Leeds.
"Straight away, I looked at him and started smiling. He understands what I mean with that. I think it’s good, it’s positive.
"Of course, sometimes you have to shout at your team-mate and call him to do different things, that’s also a big part of the game, that you’re pushing a bit more for the other team-mates.

"Sometimes it’s with a smile, sometimes with other things, but the most important thing is understanding you’re doing your best for the team."
Fernandes also reflected on his 2020, adding: "I think the first 12 months, the 11 months for me [here], have been great. Of course, the main thing I want, I didn’t achieve, until now, is the trophies.
"That is clear. We really can do that in 2021 and, of course, I think, at the end of everything, what we did in the last 11 months was really good. I’m very happy to be here and to be part of this biggest club."
