Arsenal loanee William Saliba gets ‘one month suspension’ after X-rated video

William Saliba has reportedly been handed a one-month suspended ban by the French FA after an X-rated video featuring the Arsenal star went viral earlier this year.

The 20-year-old centre-half is currently on-loan at Nice in Ligue 1 after failing to break into Mikel Arteta’s team during the first half of the season.

He has earned plenty of plaudits in his home country, making 15 appearances for Nice and picking up their January Player of the Month award.

However, the Frenchman courted controversy in February when a video, which is believed to be around three years old, went viral on Twitter.

The video showed Saliba filming himself in a changing room while another player was sat masturbating – an act that was seen in the clip.

The French Football Federation have concluded their investigation into the video and believed it to be 'harmful to the image of the federation and football as a whole.'

Saliba received a one-month suspended ban for his part in the recording, which means he will not miss any matches for Nice.

RMC Sport report that the youngster has been warned about his future conduct, with his punishment coming into effect from April 26th.

The lack of an actual ban is positive news for Saliba who has been impressing on-loan at Nice.

Despite his good form across the channel, the Frenchman’s future at Arsenal remains unclear.

He has yet to feature under Arteta, although the Gunners boss did leave the door open for Saliba to make his mark at the start of next season.

"He will come back for pre-season and he will be with us," Arteta told reporters in February.
