Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta offers Bukayo Saka injury after Brighton substitution
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Bukayo Saka after the youngster was forced off through injury against Brighton.
The England international was the man of the match against the Seagulls on Tuesday night.
It follows a narrow 1-0 win at the Amex Stadium, courtesy of a goal from Alexandre Lacazette.
The Frenchman started the match on the bench but immediately scored after coming on to alleviate the pressure on Arteta.
Arsenal now have back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time since their opening two matches of the season.
However, there is some concern over Saka – who followed up his stellar performance against Chelsea with yet another glistening display.
Arteta has quelled any fears over a long-term injury, though.
”He took a strong challenge, but hopefully he will be fine," he said.
It was another fine showing from Saka, who is quickly becoming an integral part of the Arsenal starting XI – if he is not already.
But Arteta has been keen to keep the 19-year-old's feet on the ground.
"I would like everybody to be cautious, let him be and let him develop," he added.
"I think he's having the right progression. I think he has the right people around him in his house, in his entourage.
"And he's got the right team-mates as well to support him all the time, giving him confidence and keeping his feet on the floor.
"Then hopefully we can be the right coaches around him and the right club to see the player that he can be in the future."
Saka was a constant thorn in Brighton's side on Tuesday night, eventually setting up Lacazette for the winner.
It follows from his performance against Chelsea, where he scored a brilliant effort – if he meant it.
That saw Arsenal go 3-0 up against their London rivals at the time and set them up for their first Premier League victory since November 1.
