Rams’ Todd Gurley on late-game decision: ‘Forget fantasy and forget Vegas’
Rams running back Todd Gurley is a fantasy football monster with 14 touchdowns already in 2018, but it was a touchdown he didn’t score Sunday in a 29-27 win over the Packers that has fantasy owners and gamblers cursing his name.
With a clear path to the pylon and just over a minute remaining, Gurley gave himself up at the 4-yard line and allowed his team to take a final knee to end the game as Green Bay was out of timeouts.
The Rams closed as 7.5-point favorites at most sportsbooks, and a score there by Gurley would have put the Rams up eight. Additionally, the over/under was set at 57.5, and Gurley’s unselfish play kept the final total at 56.

After the game, Gurley was uninterested in any impact his play had on fantasy players or wagerers.
“Man, forget fantasy and forget Vegas,” he said. “We got the win, so that’s all that matters.”

Gurley said everyone in the huddle knew the plan before the ball was ever snapped.

Three takeaways from the Saints’ win over the Vikings
“We go over this stuff every week. We know what to do in what situation and that’s what makes us the team we that we are — unselfish players, situational masters,” Gurley said. “It’s not all about talent or whatever, you can always beat somebody just by knowing the situation of the game. And we don’t wanna give 12 [Aaron Rodgers] back the ball.”
Average Joes may not have loved Gurley’s move, but the 8-0 Rams are in full support.
