Maryland coach Mike Locksley tests positive for coronavirus, game vs. Michigan State off

Maryland Terrapins coach Michael Locksley has tested positive for coronavirus and is currently isolating at home, the school said Thursday.

Additionally, Maryland's game set for Saturday against the Michigan State Spartans has been canceled, marking the second consecutive cancellation for the Terrapins. Their game last week against the Ohio State Buckeyes had also been canceled after the program paused football activities due to an elevated number of COVID-19 cases.

Over the last week, 15 athletes and seven members of coaching staff have tested positive, per the school. Locksley tested positive Wednesday. All of Maryland's positive cases have self-isolated.

"I am feeling strong, with only minor symptoms," Locksley said in a statement. "I will continue to lead this program virtually and our game preparations for Indiana will begin immediately."

The cancellation brings the number of canceled or postponed games for Week 12 to 15, matching last week's total for games impacted due to COVID-19 issues this season.
