MLB stars sunk 250 bottles of 50 Cent’s champagne worth over £335,000 at party

After winning one of the biggest prizes in baseball the Houston Astros partied in style with over £335,000 worth of champagne.

The Astros beat Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 in the best of seven series sparking wild scenes on the pitch and inside the dressing room. Players celebrated with over 250 bottles of 50 Cent's Le Chemin Du Roi Brut champagne, according to TMZ.

Unsurprisingly the champagne was sprayed around the dressing room with star pitcher Lance McCullers Jr in the thick of the celebrations, which lasted for hours. There were 10 Magnums of the champagne and one huge 15-litre bottle as no expense was spared.

It was the second time the Astros have won the World Series after also taking the crown in 2017.

The World Series trophy is one of the most valuable in baseball and sees the champions of the American League (AL) and the National League (NL) compete in the best-of-seven play-off series for the Commissioner's Trophy.

The Astros were heavy favourites going into the series after winning 106 games in the regular season and sweeping the Yankees in the American League Championship Series.

The Phillies struggled more in the regular series but after making the play-offs almost providing shock by taking a 1-0 and then 2-1 lead in the World Series only for Houston to come fighting back.

They won the final match of the series convincingly 4-1 to win the series 4-2 overall.

"I'm in a great city, with great people, great fans, and I got a great ball club," Astros manager Dusty Baker said Saturday after the title-clinching win.

"I mean, these guys, they know how to win. They come to play. No alibis, no excuses. You can come in our clubhouse, you can't tell the next day if we lost or if we won. So these guys are very consistent in their personality and the confidence that they have in themselves."

There is now a break in action with the next MLB season beginning on March 30.
