Kevin Durant ‘not really impressed’ with billboard trying to lure him to Knicks
Kevin Durant wasn’t impressed by a billboard in New York attempting to recruit him to the Knicks, which featured the Warriors star alongside Knicks’ Kristaps Porzingis.
The billboard reads: “Can you make NY sports great again?” and used the hashtag #KDNY2019.

Durant spoke about the billboard Thursday and seemed lukewarm to the idea of it.
“I don’t really know how to feel about that type of stuff,” Durant said via The Athletic. “It’s cool. No disrespect, but I’m not really impressed with that type of stuff.
“That’s the time the NBA is in. You look forward to free agency as fans. Your guys job is to kind of look toward the future a little bit. So I understand.”
There’s been plenty of speculation as to where Durant will sign next summer with some NBA insiders indicating the Knicks have a legitimate shot at landing the two-time Finals MVP.

As of now, the Knicks are projected to have about $31 million in cap space next summer. The team recently waived Joakim Noah to free up money, but likely will have to make a couple more moves to clear enough cap space to offer Durant the max contract he desires.
The Warriors play the Knicks on Friday at Madison Square Garden with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
