It is finally here. Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane seems to have taken an eternity to arrive after a bit of a lull from the festive period, but today is the day.

Former sparring partners turned-rivals take centre stage with the Frenchman a slight favourite with bookmakers despite the fearsome champion’s incredible fight-ending power.

In what promises to be an epic night, Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno go at it for a third time in the co-main event with plenty of other high quality match-ups to dig into before then.

Host commentator

Matt Frevola and Genaro Valdez just put on a real barnburner with the American coming out on top – he dropped the Mexican a handful of times and finally put him away after flattening him out on his back. Mike Beltran allowed it to go on and he gave the beaten man every chance to recover, which he miraculously did about five times.

Unusually, pro fighters are pretty much split down the middle with their predictions for the main event. Everyone is talking about Ngannou’s power but Gane is a similar size and perhaps his own striking is being slept on… a fascinating battle in store.

Anaheim plays host to tonight’s action and the fans are already taking their seats, filtering into the Honda Center – this is the hottest ticket in town.

Ngannou has looked every inch the freakish monster everyone hoped he would be in his last five fights – but many believe Gane has the footwork and threat of his own to provide the perfect antidote to the Cameroonian’s power.

In a few hours, the big boys of the UFC will lock horns in what is the most anticipated heavyweight title fight in recent memory.

Strap yourselves in, load up on some caffeine, or sugar, highly recommend haribo tangfastics to be taken at about 3:00am, because the pre-lims kick off in under half an hour and will lead us in nicely to the main card at 3:00am UK time.
