Michael Bisping reveals Jake Paul DID make fight offer but the UFC icon ‘LAUGHED’ at YouTuber’s proposal and has no plans for comeback

  • Jake Paul has been busy calling-out fighters and celebrities after his latest win
  • The YouTuber knocked-out retired UFC star Ben Askren inside one round
  • Dillon Danis, Daniel Cormier and Conor McGregor are among the name targeted
  • Michael Bisping has revealed he was offered a fight but has turned it down

Michael Bisping has shut down talk of a fight against Jake Paul, with the UFC icon admitting he ‘had a laugh’ about the YouTuber’s proposal for a boxing match.

Paul, 24, knocked-out wrestler Ben Askren inside the first round of his latest big money pay-per-view event, maintaining a 100 per cent win record since following his older brother Logan into boxing.

The Ohio-born vlogger is now looking to setup his fourth bout, hassling the likes of Dillon Danis, Tommy Fury, Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier.

Michael Bisping has no interest in fighting Jake Paul, revealing he has turned down an offer

The UFC Hall of Fame fighter retired back in 2017 with eye injures, and how hosts his podcast

Many fight fans are calling for a genuine boxer to step-up and stop Paul in his tracks, with Bisping among those linked with the pay-day opportunity.

‘Jake Paul’s team did make me an offer which I didn’t suitably entertain,’ he told TalkSport.

‘I’m not interested in coming out of retirement; obviously I’ve got so many injuries.

‘But I did have a bit of a laugh with it.’

The UFC Hall of Fame fighter retired back in 2017 with injuries to both his eyes, and has a prosthetic eyeball in his right socket. The 42-year-old Brit now hosts his own podcast and works as a pundit – making him a typical Paul target.

The YouTuber, whose videos is aimed at pre-teens, knocked-out Ben Askren in his third fight

Askren was ridiculed for his defeat against the controversial vlogger, which came two years after his retirement from the octagon.

The American showed up out-of-shape and was floored inside two minutes, but is reported to have walked away with the largest pay-cheque of his career.

‘I’m all for fighters being able to make money after they are done. Because it is such a tough road, it is,’ Bisping said on former athletes taking on exhibition fights.

‘I’ve been very lucky, I’m not trying to brag, I’m just saying I have been lucky.

Bisping’s glittering career assured his security but he understands the temptation to fight Paul

‘I commentate for the UFC, I do my podcast and I’ve got things going on. But that isn’t the norm.

‘Most fighters, when they retire, they step away and it is hard reality. They’re no longer the centre of attention, they don’t walk out to 20,000 people, people aren’t asking for autographs and the money dries up pretty quickly.

‘They are kind of on the scrap heap and what happens is some people turn to alcohol, some people turn to drugs, you know they get very depressed.

‘So I will never sit here and judge a fighter that decides to come out of retirement to get another pay day, because they need it.’
