Why Hughie Fury will walk out to Braveheart theme for Kubrat Pulev fight

Hughie Fury will channel his inner William Wallace and walk to the ring to the sound of the Braveheart theme on Saturday.

Fury, younger cousin of former world champion Tyson, takes on Kubrat Pulev in Bulgaria for the right to face Anthony Joshua next year.

And he will be accompanied to the squared circle by the title music of the 1995 film starring Mel Gibson.

Fury said: "At the end of the day a fight is a fight. I have always said that I will fight anyone, anywhere so to me it doesn’t make a difference.

He might see it as an advantage, but the pressure is on him. I have no problem facing him on his home turf.

"The closer we get to the fight, the more I’m looking forward to walking out to the Braveheart music and hearing the roar from the crowd.

"Pulev is a tough opponent but this is the best I have ever felt going into a fight both physically and mentally and I’m ready to go there and get the win."

Fury’s trainer and father Peter, meanwhile, is confident his son will leave everything in the ring.

”I watched the trailer video for this fight and saw Pulev as a young boy coming through the ranks and it’s the same story with our family," he said

"These men are warrior of this sport. I don’t like trash talking because I respect all fighters particularly ones at this level. These are fighting men and may the best man win.

"I want my son to face the best boxers. He’ll fight the best fighters anywhere on the planet because what I see today is plastic fighters in positions they shouldn’t be in because they don’t take proper challenges.

"My son will out it all on the line, believe me. He is a fighting man and has more heart than anyone."
