UFC champion Kamaru Usman vows to change Jake Paul’s life "in the worst way"

Kamaru Usman has vowed to "hurt" Jake Paul as the UFC welterweight champion responded to the YouTube star's call-out.

Paul has won three fights as a professional boxer – against a fellow social media star, a former NBA star and a former UFC wrestler.

And following his latest win over Ben Askren, Paul was called out by Usman who went on to KO Jorge Masvidal to retain his title.

"Maybe I'll go fight one of these guys who think they can fight, who think they can box, one of those internet guys and beat the s*** out of them," he told TMZ.

Paul accepted the challenge and offered him a $10million purse before Usman backtracked, saying: "Keep making your money young man, and stay on that side. I ain’t no Disney kid and I don’t play fighting."

Paul then mocked the UFC star for visiting Disney World with his daughter before Usman issued his threat.

"I understand you think this is a game which is probably why you don’t realise that this is how people truly get hurt," he said. "I don’t play fighting and I can change your life in the worst way."

Paul's win over Askren thrust him into confrontations with a number of UFC stars including former heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.

The pair came face to face at UFC 261 when Cormier left his commentary booth to confront Paul before later agreeing to fight him – under mixed martial arts rules.

Paul has also continued to call out Conor McGregor and has his sights set on fighting the Irishman in 2022 in a fight he believes would earn him $50million.

"Fifty million for sure. I think right now we're at the same level of draw in the combat sports world," he told The Sun.

"Doing the pay-per-view numbers that we just did, and I sort of carried that event on my back, when we went into that fight, Ben Askren had 500,000 followers.

"No one really knew who he was besides the UFC fans. So it's like if you put in a name like Jake Paul and Conor McGregor together, it's a massive event.

"It sells three millions pay-per-views easily at $75, so whatever the maths is there ($225m)."
