Strongman Eddie Hall back in boxing training just days after gruesome bicep tear

Eddie Hall has returned to boxing training just days after suffering a gruesome bicep tear.

Hall was expected to face former Game of Thrones star Hafthor Bjornsson in a boxing match on September 18 at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Florida.

However, last week the Beast told his 2 million YouTube followers that he had torn his left bicep and that his clash with bitter rival Bjornsson had been postponed until 2022.

“Little bit of bad news,” Hall said.

“On Monday I threw a bit of a lazy left hook in training and I detached my left bicep

"The good news is I had the surgery on Thursday and it was a complete success.

“The bicep’s reattached and I’m able to move it already. Even after two days, the hand’s back in and the swelling has gone down massively.

“But I’m in good spirits. The arm is reattached. I’m doing everything I can to recover as quickly as I can and I’m looking forward to getting back to training.

“I’m most looking forward to ripping Thor’s face off.”

Yesterday, Hall shared an update with his Instagram followers. The Beast claimed that just 11 days after surgery, he was already able to box with his left arm and was well on the way to making a full recovery.

Despite the bout’s postponement, the clash between Hall and Bjornsson is still set to be an incredible spectacle.

Hall and Bjornsson have been embroiled in a bitter rivalry for several years, after the former Game of Thrones star won the 2018 World’s Strongest Man competition, one year after Hall captured the very same title.

The feud would continue after Bjornsson broke the world record in deadlifting, previously set at 500kg by Hall. Bjornsson’s record is widely disputed, as he completed the 501kg lift in his home gym, outside of a competitive event.

With the rivalry continuing years on from the deadlift debacle, there only ever seemed to be one way for the pair to settle their differences.

While the quality of the boxing match might not be the greatest, the sheer size of both men as well as their genuine dislike for one another should make it a spectacular event.

Here’s hoping Hall makes a full and speedy recovery and is able to put on a show in 2022.
