Jake Paul tells Mike Tyson that McGregor is "ducking" him – but pair will fight

Jake Paul insisted he will fight Conor McGregor and the YouTuber already believes the UFC icon is ‘ducking’ him.

The 24-year-old has been calling out the Irishman for over a year in an attempt to entice him into a bout.

While speaking to former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, Paul believes he will fight McGregor after five more fights.

“I’m going to fight McGregor in five fights,” Paul told Tyson in a video of the duo posted to Instagram.

“We talked about it, I'm going to fight McGregor for sure.”

The undefeated boxer, who turned pro in January 2020, declared McGregor is already avoiding a fight with him.

“He's already ducking me,” Paul added.

“I’m going to beat McGregor. Just like you said, five fights from now, what's up?”

The American has been chasing a contest with McGregor for a while, and suggested back in November that the bout will take place within two years.

Paul has become an incredibly divisive figure within the boxing community, and the controversial content creator currently possesses a perfect 5-0 record in professional boxing.

The 24-year-old has defeated fellow content creator ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren and former UFC champion Tyron Woodley on two occasions.

Paul won the first bout with Woodley on points but he sensationally knocked out the 39-year-old on December 18 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

He stopped Woodley with a powerful one-punch knockout in the sixth round of their rematch.

Meanwhile, McGregor is recovering from a broken leg sustained against Dustin Poirer during their third clash in July.

The Irishman lost via doctor’s stoppage after he shattered his tibia in the first round.

UFC boss Dana White – who has been feuding with Paul himself – is hopeful McGregor can return in the summer if his rehabilitation hoes well.

“If everything goes right with the healing of his leg, he’ll be back this summer,” White told ESPN.

“I have no idea what the landscape is going to look like by the time he comes back. Dustin Poirier could be retired by the time McGregor comes back.

“I don’t know [if he could fight for the title right away when he comes back]. I won’t know the answer until it gets closer.”
