Harlem Globetrotters want your help in celebrating the life of the late Curly Neal

The Harlem Globetrotters are celebrating the life of the late Fred "Curly" Neal on Tuesday, May 19, what would have been the ball-handling legend’s 78th birthday. The team is asking fans from around the world to participate.

Neal, who died on March 26, was a member of the Globetrotters from 1963-85 and was one of the best-known members of the barn-storming international basketball ambassadors.

“Curly was one of the most beloved players to ever wear a Globetrotter uniform, and we are asking fans to pay tribute to him via social media on his birthday,” said Globetrotters general manager Jeff Munn in a release. “His warm heart and huge smile brought joy to millions of families worldwide. At some point in the future we will work with Curly’s family to have a celebration of life in his hometown of Greensboro, N.C.”
