WWE SmackDown PREVIEW: Roman Reigns status, New Day reunion, Bayley update
New Day Reunion
WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will link up with his New Day team-mates Xavier Woods and Big E in the ring for the first time since the latter returned from injury.
The legendary trio will take on Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Six Man Tag Team Match.
Kingston retained the WWE Championship against Ziggler at WWE Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia but they will face off again at Stomping Grounds on June 23 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington.
But this time they will fight in a Steel Cage Match as The ShowOff doesn’t want Woods to interfere like he did in Jeddah.
Roman Reigns reacts
Roman Reigns lost to Shane McMahon at Super ShowDown following interference by Drew McIntyre who levelled him with a Claymore.
McMahon and McIntyre celebrated the former’s victory on RAW and The Scottish Psychopath also warned Reigns that he will “maim” him beyond recognition when they face off at Stomping Grounds.
The Big Dog is expected to react to his loss and the British bruiser’s threats tonight.
R-Truth is still a marked man as the 24/7 Champion as he is being targeted by the entire WWE roster every single hour of the day.
Truth was able to come out on top during an attack on a golf course, a trip over the Red Sea and whilst being stuck in an elevator.
However, the ex-US Champion will need to be alert on SmackDown tonight.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley appeared on RAW last night as part of the Wild Card Rule and competed in a Tag Team Match.
The Hugger teamed up with RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch to take on Alexa Bliss and Lacey Evans, who will be challenging each respective champion at Stomping Grounds.
However, the challengers picked up the victory when Evans levelled Bayley with a Woman’s Right.
The SmackDown Women’s Champion will be looking to regain some momentum tonight.
