Roman Reigns: Why WWE megastar didn’t appear on RAW after WrestleMania

Reigns wrestled in his first Singles Match after a four-month battle with leukaemia at WrestleMania 35 last Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The Big Dog picked up an impressive win over Drew McIntyre and looked to be in good shape after beating cancer for the second time in his life.

However, the four-time world champion didn’t play any part on RAW while the WWE flagship show was on the air.

According to Sportskeeda, Brad Shepard said on the Oh You Didn’t Know podcast it was due to WWE worrying he would get a negative crowd reaction.

The audience tends to be more intense and brutal on the first episode of the season and Reigns is no stranger to that attitude as he got booed for almost nine minutes two years ago on the night after WrestleMania 33.

Shepard said: “There actually was not a lot of crowd reaction during his match with Drew [at WrestleMania].

“I think a lot of that had to do with frankly a situation in the crowd — I’m not trying to be rude — but they intentionally kept him off of TV and RAW.

“Now, of course, they did the after RAW moment with Dean and Seth, but that’s why they kept him off they didn’t want him to — you know the RAW after Mania crowd is brutal.

“Look what they did… they c*****d all over Kofi Kingston and I’m gonna get into that in a minute because that’s b*****t and this is exactly what WWE deserves.”

Reigns made an appearance after RAW went off the air and joined Universal Champion Seth Rollins in the ring.

The former WWE Tag Team Champions gave their third Shield partner Dean Ambrose a sendoff in front of the crowd at the Barclays Center in New York.

Reigns didn’t say anything during the segment as he handed the floor to Ambrose who thanked the fans for all of their support.

The Lunatic Fringe has left WWE after a seven-year stint with the company.

Rumours suggest the ex-WWE Champion decided to go because he was unhappy with the way he was being booked.
