Who plays on ‘Sunday Night Football’ tonight? Time, TV channel, schedule for Week 3

Last week’s “Sunday Night Football” offering had a thrilling finish between two NFC powers. The Week 3 Sunday night game features the NFC heavyweight Rams against the upstart, or potentially nonstarter, Browns.

The 2-0 Rams will be the favorites over a Cleveland team that sits at 1-1, with a 30-point loss to the Titans and a 20-point win over the Jets.

An ending as dramatic as the Falcons’ 24-20 win over the Eagles on last week’s Sunday Night Football would be seen as a slight disappointment for the defending NFC champion Rams. A win for the Browns, meanwhile, would go a long way in restoring the offseason luster Tennessee thoroughly knocked off in the season opener.

Below is all the info you need to watch the Eagles vs. Falcons on Sunday night, including the TV channels and kickoff time.

Who plays on Sunday Night Football tonight?

The NFL’s Week 3 “Sunday Night Football” game features the Browns hosting the Rams, the first matchup between the teams since 2015.

Los Angeles is performing an interesting balancing act with running back Todd Gurley. The three-time Pro-Bowler was in on just 70 percent of offensive snaps in Week 1 and 63 percent in Week 2. During last year’s regular season, he only dipped below 78 percent in two of his 14 games, and both were in blowout wins when his services weren’t needed late.

Of course, his usage — and effectiveness — dropped precipitously in the postseason as he battled a knee injury that forced him to miss the final two games of the regular season. He was never in on more than 66 percent of offensive snaps in the three postseason games, including a 4-carry, 10-yard NFC championship performance. He is healthy now, but the Rams are being careful with him.

The first two weeks of Cleveland’s season, meanwhile, have made it difficult to draw many conclusions about a team what was seen as an ascendant power during the offseason. The Browns looked terrible in a Week 1 loss to the Titans, who have since fallen to 1-2 by losing to teams using backup quarterbacks.

Cleveland balanced that with a much-needed win over the Jets, who were down to their third-string quarterback by the end of the game. So, Sunday night’s game against the defending NFC champions should teach us a lot about the Browns.
